Allstate Transmission And Auto Repair Project Car Build-Ups

Phoenix, AZ's Allstate Transmission and Capitol Collision Repair start on their third project car together, a 1967 Chevy Camaro Hard Top. The Camaro gets a 350 SBC with the once over, one of our Ultra Built™ custom 700R4 Rebuilt Transmissions with a 2300 rpm stall convertor, large quantities of a custom mixed orange as well as a ton of other nice custom interior and performance suspension parts will be going into the buildup.
Besides our custom rebuilt 700R4 transmission with all the good stuff, this Camaro will be built for abuse; when it's not driven on the street here in Phoenix, it'll be going road racing. So in this build up, the little 10:1 SBC 350 gets a nice cam with some roller components, an Edelbrock Air Gap Intake, a 650 Holley double pumper carb will eventually replace the AFB style Edelbrock carburetor, an HEI distributer with MSD internals controlled by a digital 6AL box, and a set of valve covers from GM Performance. The 700R4 gets a Beast shell, 5 pinion planets, a set of red Alto racing clutches, our custom built manual valve body, a billet servo kit, a cast, finned aluminum deep pan and an external cross flow transmission cooler with fan. The 700R4 torque convertor will be a custom built, 2300 stall non lock up, large spline with furnace brazed fins, and Torrington roller bearing. As far as the rest of the drive train is concerned, the suspension will be the main focus, so watch for updates on the Camaro buildup if you want to see some cool road racing components.
The stock Camaro was bought by the General Manager at Capitol Collision Repair, Eric Boyer, right after the 2011 hail storm here in Phoenix. The 2 inch hail did quite a number on the Camaro, and Eric was able to get it a good price. As for paint, Capitol will be spraying it with a custom orange mix after the body work is done. The interior will be put together last with a nice set of racing seats, a set of custom door panels and a custom console and dash.
